What's is postinor?
Actually, postinor is an oral contraceptive which is also an emergency contraceptive that can be used within 72 hours (3days) of having unprotected sex or raw sex or if your usual contraceptive method has literally failed.
Can I wait until 72 hours to take the postinor pill?
Not at all! The sooner you take the tablet the better results.The earlier the higher the chance to prevent pregnancy. Most people call it emergency contraceptive pills. So you don't have to wait until it 72 hours then you rush to pharmacist to get the tablet NO, just take the pill if possible immediately after unprotected sex or raw sex or if you think your birth control methods has literally failed.
1. How can I take postinor?
Postinor is a single pill, any 1 pill and you can easily avoid abortion .In it's pack there's only one pill in it. You have to take the postinor within 72 hours Whis is equivalent to 3 days of having any unprotected sex or raw sex . (That is for one tablet in a pack).
For 2 tablets version of postinor b, take the second tablet exactly after b12 hours after taking the first one .
The sooner you take it the more likely to work . Ideally b,you should try to take the tablet within 24 hours following unprotected sexual intercourse ,as this is when it is most effective .
The efficacy of levonorgestrel emergency contraceptive pills depends on how many hours have passed since you had unprotected sex. If you re worried about the possibility of an unplanned pregnancy it's important to act now rather than waiting to think of an abortion later which is also costly and can be at risk.
2 .When to take and not to take postinor.
Postinor is a morning after pill is currently the safest way to prevent pregnancy after contraceptive failure or after unprotected sexual intercourse with low esteem of several side effects. It's very unlikely that you will have any serious or long-term side effects after taking the postinor pill.You can even carry on with your daily activities.
When should one not take postinor tablet?
If you are actually pregnant, this is because it will not work though it will not harm the baby or interfere with the pregnancy.
If you are to postinor contraceptive.
Note: Postinor won't protect you from getting HIV infection nor sexually transmitted diseases.
3. How often can I take postinor?
Postinor tablet it's actually not a regular method of family planning so don't dare use it regularly . Use it in an emergency occasions only. Postinor has much less side effects and healthy risks than abortion pills.
Generally speaking you should not take postinor more than once within one menstrual cycle because it's more likely to disappoint your period .
Postinor does not work as well as regular methods of contraception.Your doctor , practice nurse or family planning clinic can advise you which are more effective in preventing you from getting unwanted pregnancy.
Incase you are pregnant, emergency pills do not work and that is if you are already pregnant. Postinor will also not harm an already established pregnancy. If you suspect to be pregnant, immediately see your doctor as soon as possible. But if you have already taken the pill to prevent pregnancy please don't repeat.
4. If I start to vomit after taking the pill , what should I do?
This postinor has its side effects which will eventually come after taking it and that like vomiting, nausea,such kind. So after taking the postinor contraceptive , a few women will get to be sick nor vomit ,but incase you vomit within 3 hours of taking contraceptive you literally need to take another pill. If vomiting persist go back to your doctor, pharmacist or family planning clinic for another packet.
4. How do I know postinor had worked?
Actually you will know postinor has worked after immediately when you have your next menstrual cycle and it seem like a normal period.
5. When do you have to turn to your doctor?
If your periods extends to more than 5 days later unusually heavy or light.
If you still worried that you might be pregnant and it's after seeing pregnancy signs ie fever, vomiting .
If you have sudden and unusual pain in the lower abdomen and your period is late.
If you have any concerns about your health or about the methods of contraception that is most suitable for you.
